Professional Background
Josh’s prior experience includes roles in corporate finance, private equity, and investment banking.
Before founding DoubleJack, he was the Director of FP&A at Curtis Metal Finishing, a PE-backed provider of heat treating and protective coating services for metal fasteners. Previously, he was a private-equity investor at HCI Equity Partners, where he invested in family and founder owned manufacturing, business services, and distribution companies.
Josh started his career as an investment banker at KippsDeSanto & Co., advising aerospace, defense, and government services clients on merger and acquisition transactions.
Josh received an MBA from The University of Chicago, Booth School of Business and a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia.
Personal Background
Josh grew up in Roanoke, VA and is the oldest of two siblings. Throughout his life, Josh has been passionate about athletics, playing football and baseball through high school and rugby while at UVA (he wasn’t quite good enough to play college football like his dad and brother). When he wasn’t playing sports, he kept busy umpiring Little League Baseball games, installing furniture in newly constructed dorms, or mowing lawns and mulching yards.
He spent the first seven years of his career in Washington, D.C., where he enjoyed visiting world-class museums, going to Washington Nationals games, and hiking in the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains. Josh developed a love for the outdoors while growing up only a few minutes from the most photographed spot on the Appalachian Trail. During business school he led a group of students on a trip through the National Parks of Utah and spent time backpacking with the Booth Outdoor Leadership Group in Patagonia.
Today, In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, snowboarding, camping, trying new workout classes, and traveling.
